Hello guys, first off the bad news, my partner went in for a sperm count test, he took it on, on a day it said it was open to take the sample, got thereand she said it was closed until the next day but would store the sample so that it would still be ok to use, wasnt happy but atleast it was all ok, then we get a letter 2 weeks later telling us they didnt store it properly and that as it took TWO DAYS to even get to the lab the results cant be used! So hes taken a day off work and paid to get to the hospital just for this, we now have to book more time off work and do it all again! Rediculus, very frustrating.

As for results, i had my scan yestaday, defently no sign of PCOS so thats all cleared up, she couldnt see anything wrong what so ever, so im confused now, what else could be causing me not to ovulate? i Ovulated when i was larger and have been loosing weight, so my dr dosent think its that, im not stressed, if anything my life has been calmer recently, i have been taking medication an starting to change my diet ready for a baby, so i was just wondering if anyone else has some tips they have read about or are doing? thanks guys, have a great day!

Hi Mrsg33k,
Wow, thats poor service, why do they have such incompetance?
Don't they know the importance, and the tension when couples TTC go to give a sample.
I hope thinks improve for you and him.
keep your chin up.
Where we are, they have a "Walk in service" from 8am to 8pm.
The sample results are available 1 hour after dropping off the sample.
All results nicely printed out, even with a actual colour image of the sample, showing the swimming sperm.

Fay.

Sorry i didnt explain in this one, as i have posted before, i have had PCOS for 5 years, and had a blood test in november hence why i had a scan to make sure, but there was no evidence of PCOS on my blood test either.

nothing yet, basicly before now i was ignored by DR's telling me too loose weight, couldnt even give me any information on PCOS, but i moved in september and my new doctor has been AMAZING, she has so far taken a blood sample and done my hormonic tests which have shown no hormonic reasons and then we waited for my scan, i have to wait two more weeks to see her, but she did say if they couldnt find a reason and i still carry on loosing weight that there is a high posibility i will be put onto medication if that is what i want anyway :) which is it! I dont really know what to expect, i dont know anyone who has been in the same situation :(

Hi Mrsg33k,
Well we are not in heaven, and I guess by all the bad things both he and I have done over the years, then the pearly white gates won't be for us,,,, only joking.
Actually, we are both working over in China, in a small city called Weifang.
(Not far from Beijing, about 500 miles south.)
I say small, as we ONLY have 8,2 million people.
Any way, don't let things get you down, keep chin up my dear.

Fay.

_ Ohhh, No wonder then, China has always been a show off ;)

Mrsg33k

Would ask GP to refer you to another NHS hospital's subfertility unit. It is fair to say that some units are far better than others. Do not put up with such shoddy treatment.

Semen analyses should be done at the hospital and then tested as soon as possible in a lab. What happened to your partner was and remains completely unacceptable.

What blood tests have been done recently re yourself; a day 2 to check and compare both your LH and FSH levels should be done as a matter of course.
The cystic follicles associated with PCOS are very small and can disappear only to be replaced by further cystic follicles. Weight loss can certainly help with symptoms but no one therapy or treatment will completely rid a person of PCOS.
