PCOS, the pill & fertility

Hi I'm really struggling with my PCOS symptoms getting me down. i'd like to go back on the pill but want to try for another baby (using clomid) in 6-9 months time. Do people think it's a terrible idea because going on the pill will screw up my fertility even more? Clomid worked for me with my first child after being off the pill for a while but with no natural ovulations and that's the case now. I figure that I'm going to need Clomid anyway so will going on the pill make a huge difference?

Have you been put on metformin? only it made my PCOS bearable until i had my son. Also have you tried having an implant (for after the pregancy) only since i had mine i have had no periods or bleeding. xx

I was advised by gynae not to go on the if I intended to fairly imminently TTC. Metformin is good advice and now indicated for PCOS so GP can prescribe. I don;t know which PCOS symptoms are getting you down but I was very successful on mirena coil (obviously when I wasn't ttc'ing) as my biggest problme was persistent bleeding (though almost total absence of ovulation and proper period)

I was advised that I needed to be clear of the pill (and anything else contraceptive) for at least 6 months, preferably a year, before I could get a fertility clinic appointment. Don't know if that applies to all health boards/PCTs though.
