IVF funding

Hi, I've just joined Mumsnet and wondered if anyone could help.
Has anyone heard of funding being withdrawn? We have differnet Dr's in different PCT's? We have a consultation at Barts on Wednesday so are still keeping the apt but wanted a bit of advice really.
I'm 38 in January and we've been trying for years, had an EP 2 years ago which was our first pregnancy :(
Am thinking maybe we should just go private but not sure of the best clinics locally (we're in Loughton, Essex) not finding the HEFA guide particularly helpful really.
Anyway, any help/advice would be welcome.
Angry of Loughton :)

Hi, DH and I had IVF / ICSI last year on the NHS (currently 23 wks pg) and I was on a thread of IVFers ... a couple of my thread mates did have issues with funding being called into question but, they found that once they pushed the issue, as long as they had a letter confirming it was going ahead, the PCTs honoured it.

Have you had any confirmation yet? Do you know your current PCT's funding policy?

I had IVF in central London so I'm not sure about the clinics near you but I hope things went well with Barts, I've heard good things about them.

Good luck!
