I have started this thread as a little support thing for all ladies either donating eggs or thinking about donating.......I'll start with my story.....

I was first interested when I had DS, I am absolutely sure I don't want anymore children, as I am only 33 I thought about donating, anyway I looked into and advertised myself on another forum and got an email from a lady who was interested, I had all the tests and found my fertility to be quite healthy........fast forward to now, I have had the drug Prostap and start my stimulation drugs on the 24th of this month, we're looking into the egg harvest happening on the 7th November, thewn it's down to luck and the magic of nature :)

Hi ladies hope you don't mind me posting here, but I'm currently waiting for some tests to become a doner, well egg sharing is what I'm hoping to do its a long story but the short version is I'm 30 years old I've had 2 children( naturally no ivf) when my son was born I decided to be sterilised at the same time, which was so foolish! Sadly my son passed away last year aged 2 and the urge to have another child is so strong! Even though I know it won't replace him. We can't have ivf on the nhs because I chose to be sterlized which is understandable! Our local private clinic offers an egg sharing program which would enable us to have free treatment.
I don't find the thought of sharing my eggs with someone else less fortunate than myself a problem, but just wondering if anyone has done it and how the emotional aspect has affected you?

Hi

I'm new to this thread. My situation is that I had a baby last year via IVF. At 44 I've now been told that I have a 1% chance of success if we went down this route again. We would love a second child to complete our family and we are considering egg donation. We have been recommended a clinic in Spain. However all the donors are anonymous. I am faced with the ethical situation of deliberately having a child who will be denied access to information about their genetic background and history. Much as I want a second child I worry that we will bring a child into this world who will constantly wonder where they are from and who they are. I would be delighted to hear from any other family who has faced this situation and the resolution you came to. I love my daughter dearly and would love to give her a sibling .

sleb1 - did you resolve your dilemma? I'm looking to donate, but don't like the idea of anonymous donor, I like to know that if the family ever wanted to get in touch, they could. But I also don't need a relationship at all (I just don't like the unknown). I'm actually looking to egg share, because I could then freeze some of my own in case I want a family later down the line. I'm 31 and happy to tell you lots and lots about myself. If anyone is interested in going down the 'non anonymous' route, then please do get in touch.

Hi guys,

I know this is a really old thread but myself and my partner are looking for a 'known' egg donor in that we'd ideally like to know our donor a little prior and maybe maintain some sort of friendship going forward. Should anyone be able to help I'd love to hear from you!

Chrissy xx
