What next?

quick background. One healthy ds(5). 4 miscarriages since then all relevant tests carried out and no reason for it just 'bad luck'. Have a blocked tube but consultant doesn't see need to do anything about it. Last saw consultant 6 months ago and he told me that there was nothing else he could do, no medication he could give me to help and I was just to return in 6 months. Well tomorrow is my 6 month follow up but I really don't know what, if anything, will be suggested. Are there any questions I should be asking? If he couldn't do anything last time I don't know why 6 months will make any difference. Think he hopes I'd have got pg in that time and stop bothering him!

I don't know the answer (my issue is more about not getting pregnant at all) but just wanted to say I hope you get somewhere tomorrow. Have you queried immunology?
Alibobster · 06/09/2011 23:01
Hi Faith, sorry you're going through this, it's just shit. I didn't know much about immunology till I read it on another thread. In the past I mentioned Nk cells but consultant just dismissed me. To be honest I've never felt he has been that much of a support or really interested in helping me. If I don't have any joy tomorrow I'm going to ask to be referred to someone else. There was a dr at another hospital who dealt with me after my last d&c and he was fantastic, really good attitude.

Good thanks Faith. The consultant I had previously has now retired, which is good, so it was a female consultant who I really liked. She has booked me in for a laparoscopy in November so they can have a look and see what, if anything, is causing me problems. I feel a lot happier cause at least now something is being done. Thanks for asking x

Hi ali, its lissie, are they redoing bloods? What did the new cons say about the blocked tube? Seems daft to not do anything about it.
SquishyCinnamonSwirls · 08/09/2011 10:52
What stage are your m/c's at? And do they have any idea why they are occuring? Also, have they run the full set of blood work, and done any dna comparison testing between you and your dh?
It's disheartening when there's no real reason that they can give you.
Glad you got on well with your new consultant though, having someone on your side is reassuring.

I'm really pleased you now have a consulant you like and things are moving forward.

Hi Lissie, think they are going to clear the tube. To be honest I wasn't expecting this outcome yesterday I was all set for an argument with the previous consultant, so I wasn't prepared with the right questions. They're sending me a letter detailing what's going to happen. So mad though because consultant was going to do this last time but because I became pg he wouldn't do it and just sent me away for 6 months.
Hi Squishy, yes dh and I have had all the relevant tests done. I am not getting past the 9 week stage and unfortunately they can't find any reason why, just 'bad luck' !
