Woman's Hour

Does anybody out there want to share opinions on woman's hour? I've just started listening to it and am keen to know what other women think of it.

The concept of it is interesting and they seem to have some really relevant discussions (recently they had one about pregnancy and alcohol) but I've not been listening long enough to really get to the heart of what woman's hour is all about. Do you think it is perverse to have an hour dedicated to 'female topics' ? Should they be included in the mainstream media more, such that dedicating an hour to them wouldn't be necessary? How would you improve the program or what would you change...and what do you like about it?

None of my friends listen to it. Tell me what you think!

Beat me to it, happysmiley - just hears Eddie Mair interviewing someone on R4's "PM".

This thread looks suspiciously like market research to me.

Yes, EmmaBemma, my earlier suspicion, too, and MollieS has not come back to suggest otherwise!

(Or maybe was disgusted we switched to considering the rubbish they put out last time they did some show aimed at Men). The thing planned for Five Live sounds even worse, however, with their gimmicky ideas.

God, they didn't put much effort into making it sound like a 'real' post did they?? Anyway, for what it's worth I bloody love womans hour (although Jane Garvey gets right on my tits). It is also one of the high points of my day when I get chance to listen to it.

FFS i totally fell for it being a real post, and reading back the OP now can see it clearly was not.

Why can't these journos just ask us honestly and openly? they will get honest responses after all.
