here

This looks really interesting. I have seen the link to gut bacteria/ problems and ASD before but this seems to have taken it a few steps further.

Hmmm. Am cynical.

On one hand I like that it's a post birth test (controversial but how I feel)

however I think that whilst this may pick up swome kids we know that asd isn't a one thing and that is far more likely to pick up one contributiory grou

After all, ASD is a group of symptoms: some kids with asd have nothing in common with others, even in my oiwn household ASd social issues can mean exceptionally outgoing with no discriminatory behaviours at all, or withdrawn

I think if it saves the many parents who go through sometimes yeras of not being beleived and evena ccused of lying that, it will be a good thing.

But asd is so variable: having a child with ASD can vary between a fairly minor DX and a major life changing event.

'Your child has asd' is meaningless: what a parent needs to know is what their child's chances of speaking, working, haveing relstionships are: at least those are the questions I would like answered.

Or most imporrantly your child will or will not be independent: the ojne wquestion nobody can really answer and yet despite a million definitions, independence is, IMO, the difference between severe and not.
