Pretty shocking. Many countries including Britain and Ireland have already come out and condemned the sentence. But what if anything can be done?

Just so awful that this still happens.

I heard this the other night on the radio.

It is very shocking, but the culture is very homophobic.

I am glad that some countries have condemned it but I am also glad they have not taken the option of withdrawing aid. Coersion isn;t the way to change things. DOn't know what is.

I've just read that the Malawians crowded the court to see the verdict and cheered when they were sentenced. poor men.

I made the mistake of following a link from the BBC story to Timesonline. The ignorant comments on there have made me swear never to venture onto that website again.
