His "pledges"

  • Secure the recovery
  • Raise family living standards
  • Build a high tech economy
  • Protect frontline services
  • Strengthen fairness in communities

What a load of buzzword nonsense. How can you judge whether they succeed or fail on such vague stuff?

Compare and contrast the 1997 5 point pledge card, when Labour still had energy and ideas:

  • We will cut class sizes to 30 or under for 5, 6 and 7 year olds by using money saved from the assisted places scheme
  • We will introduce a fast track punishment scheme for persistent young offenders by halving the time from arrest to sentencing
  • We will cut NHS waiting lists by treating an extra 100,000 patients as a first step by releasing £100m saved from NHS red tape
  • We will get 250,000 under-25 years-olds off benefit and into work by using money from a windfall levy on the privatised utilities
  • We will set tough rules for government spending and borrowing and ensure low inflation and strengthen the economy so that interest rates are as low as possible to make all families better off

"Secure the recovery"

By selling off the last of our gold prehaps? At least he'd het a better price now tan the all time low he sold the last lot at.

"Raise family living standards"

How does he plan to do this I wonder when there's no money in the pot he plans to increase taxes and jobs will be going across the board.

"Build a high tech economy"

So I guess he's given up with his bust and boom financial economy. And as most in the business will be lured to other countries with lower taxes, better standard of living, health care and financial packages, who's left the people who designed the failed governments systems (nhs and alike?).

"Protect frontline services"

After he's finished cutting them, as per the leaked nhs document today?

"Strengthen fairness in communities"

What does that mean ffs? British families are going to be housed in social housing before the millions of immigrants perhaps? Give everyone and asbo? Buy everyone a house so nobody feels worse off than their neighbour? Protect people like the pilkingtons?

"- We will introduce a fast track punishment scheme for persistent young offenders by halving the time from arrest to sentencing.."

when in fact they have halved the sentences or just reduced it to a smack on the wrists.

"- We will cut NHS waiting lists by treating an extra 100,000 patients as a first step by releasing £100m saved from NHS red tape"

PMSL- nhs red tape- now thats funny !- how about we will introduce so much red tape and paper pushing into all public services, police, fire service, amublance, nhs, schools, ss we will have people filling in forms instead of doing their job discription.

"- We will get 250,000 under-25 years-olds off benefit and into work by using money from a windfall levy on the privatised utilities"

When? there are more under 25's not working or in education or training now than there ever were before.

"- We will set tough rules for government spending and borrowing and ensure low inflation and strengthen the economy so that interest rates are as low as possible to make all families better off "

Do I really need to comment

How on Earth does he think he can achieve any of this with his record breaking deficit? What a tosser.
