the woman could have doen with a homestart volunteer to begin with. she didnt need a mental health assessment. she'd left a violent, abusive husband in birmingham, lived in a country where she doesnt understand the language. had two children, and would have been excommunicated, or equivlent from her community if hiv diagnosis was made. she didnt need someoen to make a definite mental health diagnosis. just someone to show some kindness

I think she needed a lot more than Homestart and kindness and so did her family.

she did, but she didnt get anything at all, coz they were too busy waiting for the official diagnosis. its like when the child died on a street crossing coz they were waiting for the lollipop ladies bright clothing to come through.
something is always better than nothing.
