What has happened to JSP - it really is irony of ironies that she considers Mumsnet 'aggressive', and furthermore slightly depressing that she bases this opinion on 'what her friends' say.

For some reason, I kind of imagine JSP being a little crap with technology, the sort who said "this internet thing will never take off" and says "I just want a phone to make a phone call, I don't need all this other stuff". This, combined with the fact she uses dangerously ignorant stereotypes of mothers, means she comes across very badly.

And I think Justine definitely outsmarted her. Hurray !

Lymond - unfortunately I don't know what a cookie is, and I don't grasp what that comment is all about really [way behind the times, would love to be enlightened emoticon].

Ah, thank you.

Does a cookie that gets on to my pc from Boden, for example, allow Boden to track my usage on other sites, or only on their site?
Can't believe I don't know this stuff!

Think so, if it's a tracking cookie. They do tend to get stomped v. quickly by anti-virus software though.

If you want to get rid of them, goto your Tools menu. I'm running Firefox, and Tools>Options>Privacy takes you to the option to delete some or all of your cookies.

*and I think the same applies in IE..

Premature post!

Thanks both.
