Here

According to a council spokesman
'Civil parking enforcement officers are exempt from parking restrictions when they are carrying out their statutory duties'

That cannot be right or fair, surely?

Yes it is. In Richmond where I used to live the traffic wardens used to park on the double yellow lines outside DS school - ticket all the cars parked on the double yellows and then drive off.

Not condoning parking on double yellow but it did seem a bit...well... hypocritical.

It may be right, but it can't be fair. Surely the whole point is that double yellows are there when it is unsafe for you to park and should only be used in emergencies and for people who genuinely need to park there (blue badges, for example)
These guys do not appear to havea blue badge, and it is not an emergency, so they should not have parked there.

Surely tis equivalent of a policeman pickpocketing you and then saying they can do it as they are policemen?!
