Girl taken for court for throwing a banana - what?

Just saw this on the wright stuff - sorry the link is in the sun - here

Reads that a 14 year old girl who was sexually abused twice threw a piece of fruit at the perpetrators house - and she got taken to court for it.

What? I am that the CPS thought this was a worthwhile prosecution, in the public interest etc let alone the idea that they drag a girl through court 3 times for this while she is involved in a court case for sexual abuse (for which the man got 3.5 years).

What were they thinking? From the judge's comments it doesn't seem like there is more to this...

She twice threw a piece of fruit, not she was sexually abused twice, that should read.

Jesus i thought this was going to be some stupid story in which they were claiming racist connotations, that's fucking awful.
Sometimes you wonder where peoples common sense is.

Well at least the judge had some common sense.

The CPS must have discussed the case in meetings etc and decided to press ahead, so that was a group decision, not one person going wonky IYSWIM.

It's scary really.
