Musr be awful NT - those images will be so hard to try and forget

HappyHuggy · 07/07/2005 16:55

im still waiting for news.....

Springchicken · 07/07/2005 16:58

Who are you waiting o hear from HH?

NorfolkTurkey · 07/07/2005 16:58

Believe me, some of the things that my staff have described today are horrific and I wouldn't want to describe them here. I can imagine that I'll need to arrange counselling for alot of the staff and understandably so.

Apprantly surrounding shops/hotels were brilliant and supplying things without question with no thought of payment. Taxi drivers ferried some of the staff home free of charge.

HappyHuggy · 07/07/2005 16:59

couple of freinds and a member of my family

Springchicken · 07/07/2005 17:00

Gosh !!!!

NT, I'm confused..........so this is not the fatalities that have been detailed on the news these arte seperate ones which haven't been mentioned yet?

foxinsocks · 07/07/2005 17:02

norfolk turkey, it appears as though that tube blast was the worst one (in terms of casualties) - I used to get that line to work but get off at Holborn. It's still very deep there and I imagine that must have made the rescue effort v difficult.

NorfolkTurkey · 07/07/2005 17:05

They're not seperate but part of the 'total'. Sky have just said that 33 people have died in total so expect that to rise. When I last spoke someone it was about three thirty and they were still getting people out and they believe that the number of fatalities is into the thirties.

anorak · 07/07/2005 17:07

My DH has just phoned to say he has managed to get on a Thameslink train from Euston so that line is obv working.

HappyHuggy · 07/07/2005 17:07

so its looking more likely to be bad news for me then?

Springchicken · 07/07/2005 17:09

Oh HH, so sorry - how inconsiderate

Any names we can look out for on the news?

NorfolkTurkey · 07/07/2005 17:10

The blast happenned between Russell and Kings Cross on the front carraige (which scared me as I normally travel in at that time of day always in the front carraige as that is where the exit is for Russell Square). They managed to get some customers from the back of the train via Kings Cross with the bulk and the worse effected being taken out via Russell. The lifts at Russell were initially stuck in the shaft (which sometimes happenned) but they must have got them moving again to get the injured etc out.

Springchicken · 07/07/2005 17:10

Tunnel Reconstruction equipment now arrived at Russell Square

NorfolkTurkey · 07/07/2005 17:11

Oh my goodness HH, I am so sorry. I really should have thought a bit more before posting. Sorry

Springchicken · 07/07/2005 17:12

The unidetified package found recently was said to be found on a bus in woburn Place.

Springchicken · 07/07/2005 17:24

Grosvenor Square has now been blocked off.

FIMAC1 · 07/07/2005 17:30

We were in NY on 9/11 - it took a few days for the shock to set in, when it did it was awful - couldn't sleep and couldn't concentrate - awful, awful, never want to feel like that/go through that experience again - hearing some of it today gave me a slight panic attack esp when co-workers were trying to locate friends/colleagues in London

Springchicken · 07/07/2005 17:31

Tony Blair speaking again from Downing Street.

I've never actually liked him but he does actually seem quite genuine now.

Blackduck · 07/07/2005 17:34

Dad wasn't in London - so big relief there....brother is currently trying to get home (he was walking to Euston last I heard...)

Springchicken · 07/07/2005 17:35

Looked like he was going to break down

wilfulwife · 07/07/2005 17:35

God,this is awful. Can anyone clarify the position now at 5.30pm-are they still looking for packages? Are new areas being cordoned off?

kid · 07/07/2005 17:40

I think they said they were just recovering now, not looking for anymore packages. Buses are beginning to run again. Lots of delays though.

wilfulwife · 07/07/2005 17:43

Thanks Kid.
