Thank you so much for the travel update. It's about the only thing I can do to help my dh who's stranded at his office - emailing that to him.

Re the man seen on BBC News 24 being resuscitated as he was taken out of an ambulance.

I have just seen a news report from that hospital saying that there have been no fatalities at that particular hospital, so thank goodness, it sound like that man did not die. It still does not excuse BBC News showing it on TV before they knew that.

beatie · 07/07/2005 14:20

I realise that's not a helpful update for anyone stranded in London, but I thought others might want to know.

SaintGeorge · 07/07/2005 14:23

To be fair to the BBC, I think it was a live feed. I haven't seen that particular shot repeated although others from around the same time have been.

Saint George - I have seen it repeated.

beatie · 07/07/2005 14:35

Plus, I can understand the samera not being able to turn away from filming that scene but perhaps the Vision Mixers could have cut to something else.

SaintGeorge · 07/07/2005 14:37

Human reaction time though, feel sorry for the vision mixers if they have to react that quickly.

Maybe they are now allowing the repeats because they have come to the same conclusion regarding no fatalities at that hospital.

fishfinger · 07/07/2005 14:37

dh is on a flight
all normal

GeorginaA · 07/07/2005 15:37

Wikipedia has quite a detailed page of order of events, quotes, resources and infrastructure/transport status.

GeorginaA · 07/07/2005 15:48

And another friend of mine has just phoned me to let me know she's okay. Can relax a bit now.

Hope everyone else has had replies from friends & family there today.

Springchicken · 07/07/2005 17:14
