He managed to get in his panic room but he left his 5 year old grand-daughter out in the house
She was fine but not sure how I would feel as a daughter/son
Relieved my father was alive but about my daughter having been left to an axe wielding extremist
see here

Not criticising him, merely pointing out as the parent of the child and daughter/son of the threatened person that your feelings must be interestingly tested in different directions.
Human emotion etc

The article in the Guardian yesterday said that he had been told by terrorism experts to do exactly what he did. Worked out too didn't it? He and his grand-daughter are alive and well.

Anyone else seeing the irony of crazy fanatics attacking someone because they object to be considered crazy fanatics?

scaryteacher · 06/01/2010 10:23

No the irony wasn't lost on me.

So, in addition to having an "escape from/defend ourselves against Zombies plan" have we all now got a similar plan re axe wielding murderers ?

Just a thought.

"Consider it - Westerguaard makes a detour to collect his granddaughter. He picks her up and runs but is intercepted by the lunatic. Do you really believe that someone so overwhelmed by bloodlust or hate is going to suddenly develop a sense of compassion and remove the little girl from the grasp of her grandfather or, as is infinitely more likely, would he just indiscriminately kill both of them?"

in which case we would have had a thread with people calling him a "shit" for either using his grand-daughter as a human shield or leading the axe-wielding maniac straight to her, with the same string of people asking why he didn't just remove himself from the vicinity and not involve his grand-daughter at all as the axe-maniac probably wanted nothing to do with her in the first place.
