It said on the radio this morning that some of the racists queued up to apologise and shake the hand of the man they had been abusing.

she really does

MaryMotherOfCheeses · 24/12/2009 08:57

It makes me think "what would I have done?" and I don't know I'd have been that brave. Which is very sad.

Well done that woman but yes, other passengers should have backed her up.

Not half as serious but I chased after and told off a gang of lads in London who had asked me the time, then ran off saying 'we gobbed on your coat'. Caught up with them at the tube barriers and used my very firm headmistress voice. They shuffled their feet and apologised and I made them say sorry to ds, as well. Quite satisfying. Then they jumped the barriers...

great

why was it down to a petite young lady to stand up to the thugs?

Well done to her and her family for bringing up such a courageous young lady.

MaryMotherOfCheeses · 24/12/2009 11:33

To be fair, it doesn't say she was alone in this, or that no one else backed her up.

But she was clearly fairly impressive

Good for her! Most people would have been to scared to act.
