So glad OW is now extinct. LOL at TMMJ on Polly Vernon.

Bramshott · 12/11/2009 14:12

Still no arsing week's telly guide though. I am still pining for the Observer, whilst chewing my way worthily through the Saturday Guardian - sigh!

mrsshackleton · 12/11/2009 16:46

I think they're bringing back the telly guide on Sun

I am very . have a close relly who works on one of those supplements (Not Woman, which was shite but I shall miss its shiteness). Insiders reckon that the Guardian is closing the supplements so fewer people will buy the Obs, so they can then justify closing it down

again

Bramshott · 12/11/2009 17:03

Oooh, that would be good MrsS. Can someone who gets it report in next week to say if it's back - don't care about all the programme review bits - just want the whole week's listings.

DuelingFanjo · 12/11/2009 17:16

Oh that's a sahme. I quite liked it.

bibbitybobbityhat · 12/11/2009 17:20

Hooray. It was excrutiating.

Am also very pleased to see the sport supplement is going because dh has been collecting them since issue 1 and has the full set with the binders and everything. I was worried about when it was going to stop because we only live in a 3 bed house.

lalalonglegs · 12/11/2009 20:52

It's probably too late to change anyone's mind but Polly Vernon is a great interviewer. I liked this heather mills and this one graydon carter recently.

Interesting theory mrsshackleton - it certainly seems commercial suicide to close the mags down; very hard to justify the £2 price without them.

TheDampSquibOfSeptimusQuench · 12/11/2009 21:00

I am very glad to hear this

They printed some right old tosh didn't they?

lisianthus · 13/11/2009 12:51

I liked it. I also liked the Food one. I didn't find anything in Music or Sport vaguely interesting though.

onebatmother · 13/11/2009 20:16

They're all doomed! all of them! doomed I tell you!

MeAndMyMonkey · 13/11/2009 20:21

Oh dear, I rather liked it too, but I am unashamedly superficial.

RamblingRosa · 14/11/2009 14:41

I liked it too .

Prunerz · 16/11/2009 00:24

The food supplement is staying, though, isn't it?
I would gladly pay £2 for a paper with good journalism, fewer columns and no supplement that made me weep with despair

MrsMerryHenry · 18/11/2009 00:10

Am to say that someone in my household bought the Observer recently and last night I discovered it in the living room, with a copy of OFW (the one with gay dads on the cover). I flicked through it and actually though it sounded quite good .

Looks like it's changed since I last read it.

Oh well.

Re Woman's Hour - hands off, Shroomer! . Woman's Hour rocks. That's all you need to know.
