Where would you start?

I think I'd buy lots and lots of woodland and agricultural land - maybe open a working farm that is a therapeutic community/psychiatric rehabilitation centre as sort of eco-therapy

and would also, poss alongside, run a rescue/rehome service for unwanted animals that includes a dog walking service so people in full time employment/low income are not barred from offering otherwise perfectly lovely homes to dogs - paid work placements for people who have been off work/recently discharged from hospital to build up confidence etc

and I'd have riding lessons every day

and would quite like a helicopter and some tigers

I'd leave work.

Buy a small holding with stables. Get more chickens, a horse, couple more cats.

Buy a drunm kit.

Buy a ski chalet in France. Buy a big motorhome.

Help out friends and family and some charities.

Oh and I'd go to uni and do a history degree.

finance a great film and cast john cusack as the lead, then just watch him act and prance about all day

oh how lovely, id buy a house in St Ives with a great view ,ive always wanted a donkey so get 2 of them have a chalet somewhere snowy and a summer house in Sweden errrr, spoil the kids rotten wave cheerio to dh and give loads to charity especially Scottish society for Autism and anything to do with dancing bears

Buy my parents a little cottage somewhere lovely

Invest in a trust fund and property for my children, on condition that funds to be released only when they have completed a university or equivalent training course and are earning more than the average wage at the time

Donate some to the University I work at to benefit my immediate colleagues and then convert my job to VERY part-time

Pay off my mortgage and invest enough for a decent living income

Donate whatever is left over to charity or set up a charitable foundation

I'd quite like to set myself up as a contract florist spending all my days doing wonderful flowers for weddings and events. I'd also do lots and lots of photography and get really really good at it.

I'd love to buy a huge rambling house so that I could have loads of friends over to stay all the time and they could bring their children, instead of just keeping in touch via FB etc.

I'd also pay off my sister's mortgate, any remaining debts my parents have, help out as many friends and family as I could.

I'd like to set up some kind of charity providing really good quality cheap childcare for low income families.

Finally, I'd buy myself one of these so dh, ds and dd (when she eventually gets here) could sail around the world whenever we wanted to (avoiding perilous pirate infested waters of the Indian Ocean!)

I quite like my own life though, it could be enhanced - wouldn't want to change it dramatically

hence have only cosmically ordered £2.4m lottery win instead of £45m

I would give my Mom, PILs, my Dad and StepMom £1million. My 3 brother and SIL £500k (for my teen brother's in trust until they are 21).
Buy my Grandmother a bungalow/give her £200k, she'd prob want to ive with my Dad. Give my Aunty £200k.
Give various friends £100k each.

Keep £10million (big house, holiday home(s), new car, invest for DCs).

Then give the rest to charity/set up charity(ies).

Not that I've thought about it, or worked it all out on paper or anything.

I would give up work and probably home ed the kids - with lots of travelling. Might well by a second home somewhere remote.

Might even set up a small research centre (not sure 45m would be enough though for that). More likely fund some research projects.

DW and I were chatting about this and we thought we might buy a house and maybe not. We might have a housekeeper or just a cleaner. Don't have or want a car, don't really want many more clothes.

Other than that we could not really think of anything as we eat well and drink well already. In the end we thought we might struggle to spend the interest.

Might be a curse in the end I suspect.

for me the money would be more about experiencing activities,not nice things,and thats coming from someone who is back now on income support!

of course you would have to spend £££ on security so your dcs don't get kidnapped

Adopt 2 children, I have 3 of my own but hate being pregnant, so to adopt would be nice, room and money being no object!

Buy a farm with room for horses, cows, sheep, chickens and pigs.

Get DS (autistic) the best help and support I could and possibly an indoor soft play centre so he didn't have to fight other NT kids
