Egg screening for genetic faults boosts IVF success - good news?

I was really interested to read this today. Considering that it more than doubles the chance of a viable pregnancy using IVF isn't it a positive thing to do or is it getting too close to genetically engineering kids?

As an older woman who might need IVF I would be happier if the stats for successful pregnancy were higher.

embryo screening, not egg screening, right? or am i being thick?

not that it matters, obviously it makes sense to use the embryos most likely to implant and develop.

Ah - I just copied the BBC headline from their site. It does lokk like it's embryo screening.
