I may () be hormonal but it is really starting to piss me off.

Stephen Gately did not have "a partner". He was married. They keep saying "His partner who he married in....".... therefore it is his HUSBAND!

Grrr.

Feels like they are lessening the relationship somehow.

Kay, that is such an american way to see it, all candy coated and sweet [shudder]

Yes, I must get on too...no really I must, someone kick me if I come back anytime soon please!

KayHarkerIsKayHarker · 12/10/2009 12:35

My dad calls his current squeeze 'his woman'.

I alwsys think it's a bit clinical when women call their blokes 'my man', sort of on the same level as 'my car' or 'my hairbrush'

Argh, I am definitely going now - tell me off if you see me again.

DailyMailNameChanger · 12/10/2009 12:36

Prof, I quite like that for some reason... I am going out tonight with my Gentleman Caller... X this is my gentleman caller... no it would end up making him sound like a stalker!

BobbingForPeachys · 12/10/2009 13:59

I've noticed that in DH's family eevery partner over about 30 just becomes wife / DH anyway regardless of any ceremony- to thisday nobody knows if DH's Grandad and his partner ever married (they were together 40 years before he died last year), and FIL's GF of 4 years the same.

Ladyanonymous · 13/10/2009 14:15

Also very annoying how they keep saying he went to a "Gay Nightclub"...what the fuck does it matter if it was a "Gay" nightclub or just a "Regular" Nightclub....its irrelevant.

LadyTeasmaid · 13/10/2009 14:24

For all I'm bothered people can refer to me as DH's old bag of carrots and I wont let it bother me any. Doesn't matter what title you whack on a relationship. It's still a relationship. I'm sure Mr Coates loved Stephen dearly and thats what matters.

GoppingOtter - maybe Old Wills already had his say?

"What's in a name? That which we call a rose
By any other name would smell as sweet."

KayHarkerIsKayHarker · 13/10/2009 15:00

Ain't no one callin' me Dh's old bag. 'Specially not Dh.

(I think his husband is surnamed Cowles)

ProfessorLaytonIsMyLoveSlave · 13/10/2009 21:13

As Anne of Green Gables said "I read in a book once that a rose by any other name would smell as sweet, but I've never been able to believe it. I don't believe a rose would be as nice if it was called a thistle or a skunk cabbage."

GoppingOtter · 13/10/2009 22:43

GoppingOtter · 13/10/2009 22:44
