lager lout behaviour in holiday resorts is nasty and embarrassing. When I've been to Greece on holiday, I've avoided those resorts but still seen a few things in the smaller places that have made me feel like apologising to the Greeks for my fellow countrymen and women.

First time I went to Greece, I said 'Kali mera' (sp?) in a shop and the owner practically fell over in surprise that a Brit had bothered to learn two bloody words of his language.
