The report is based upon a serious case review. Sadly, therefore, your valid criticisms are criticisms of the underlying investigation and particularly medical opinion rather than the journalism.

This is the "think dirty" concept beloved of some paediatricians.

What I find particularly sad, however, is that the belief that a child has been shaken (which is true some times) leads to a failure to investigate other causes and hence a failure to learn about other causes.
