From the General Secretary of the Royal College of Midwives. How I wish my consultant and midwives had read this before my labour.

Perhaps I have just been lucky, but I have had 3 very good births-I didn't write any birth plans or have set views beforehand, but managed to do my own thing. I don't know how you even know what 'your own thing' is beforehand-especially the first time. However I haven't wanted a home birth so possibly I have just missed all the problems.

lucky you picesmoon

wish my consultant and midwives had been taught something like this back when they were first training - they seemed to find it absurd, that I should have any say in what happened to my body (finely balanced decision c-section vs induction, THEY kept changing their minds)
