but that this, and the Banking Crisis are going to be a massive shoe-in for fucking fascists.

It is actually scary.

Well if they can make the trains run on time....

Pennies · 21/05/2009 21:30

You mean BNP? Why exactly?

LupusinaLlamasuit · 21/05/2009 21:30

Blimey. Yasmin Alibhai-Brown just made this very point on QT the minute I posted it.

We're all thinking it aren't we?

SomeGuy · 21/05/2009 21:31

meh, the fact that the fascists are flatlining (3-4% in the polls) despite this, demonstrates that this is not the case.

LupusinaLlamasuit · 21/05/2009 21:32

Because people will see them as some kind of 'ordinary people' alternative, which is exactly the kind of shite they use in their propaganda.

OP posts:
foxinsocks · 21/05/2009 21:32

no, because anyone who even thinks of voting for the BNP is a fuckwit, expenses crisis or not quite frankly

and if people think UKIP are whiter than white, then they just haven't experienced UKIP!

LupusinaLlamasuit · 21/05/2009 21:33

There are lots of fuckwits where I live.

OP posts:
SomeGuy · 21/05/2009 21:34

the thing is the BNP are simply too fascist for all but the hardcore Nazis. There is an appetite for right wing populism, as seen in Europe, but the BNP ain't it.

foxinsocks · 21/05/2009 21:34

well it's a shame

they should be banished, fuckwits, that is

if people can't see the BNP for what they truly are then I despair of their upbringing

foxinsocks · 21/05/2009 21:35

think what this will inspire more than anything else is apathy tbh

SomeGuy · 21/05/2009 21:36

UKIP are of course the only truly right-wing party in the UK, but they are hardly credible, half their MEPs are crooks and they have no particular stars in their party. I suspect the BBC bias against anything right wing helps to keep them down too.

onagar · 21/05/2009 21:40

Don't know if apathy is exactly the word though. I mean even if you are really motivated to make the right choice who can you vote for? You only get to choose which crook will be in charge.

foxinsocks · 21/05/2009 21:42

it's not correct to think they are all crooks though onager

a lot of them were, but plenty of MPs weren't

but it's tainted the whole lot and put people off

also check out your local options. Not all of them are crooks although gawd knows how that works in the European elections ;-)

OhYouBadBadKitten · 22/05/2009 11:59

Bizarrely puzzled by the op. What has Joanna Lumley got to do with the bnp
other than blasting them?

my thread was meant humorously. But you know, it is nice to see someone actually being passionate about an issue and doing something about it.
