Golly. Could be A Good Thing in preventing an abduction but allowing the child to still see the parent, I suppose. Although electronic tags don't have a 100 per cent record - am sure I saw some stats about how infrequently anyone notices they've been taken off...

I would imagine abductions by men are more common, and I can see the sense (even though tagging sounds extreme) of this as there have been a number of cases where it is very difficult to get the children back once they have gone abroad.
