As reported on Andrew Marr show this morning? From ALL the papers apparently.

He's so... competent and persuasive and seemingly decent. And hasn't been to university (which is an asset apparently)

[and yes, I SO would with Mr Housewives' Choice ]

I've definitely heard the name, and I've definitely seen the face. But I wouldn't necessarily have put the two together. If it had been Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, I would have had to phone a friend. Or go 50/50. Or possibly even ask the audience.

He's got a face like someone who's got gout. I don't know why I say that.

How did he do? Had to switch off as war broke out in the back room...

I am so NOT a Labour Party plant. I am interested though in whether the Labour party are electable now. Apart from the stupid expensive war I think they've done some good things, but Gordon is such a bumbling fool.

He reminds me of Swiss Tony from the Fast Show - something oily about him.

I much prefer John Hutton, the (so far) most decent defence sec we have had in a while, at least since George Robertson.IMO anyway.

Saltire · 03/05/2009 11:07

I also have a soft spot for Jim Murphy.

Didn't Alan Johnson live in a children's home for a time? (As a child, I mean!) Which would make an amazing rags to power story.

I have seen him before. Health not an issue in my family right now, so have not noticed him. We pay attention to Education, Home Office and Foreign Office as it effects us personally. Have read his profile and see he went to the same school as my DH. His school then turned into Pimlico. We need a change Gordon not doing to well at present! I cannot vote for the Conservatives and not sure about Clegg!

Andrew Marr was funny about Hazel Blears (or Hazel Bleeeeeugh, as we call her in our house).

She couldn't have written the article herself he said. Condolences. She's at home now with both elbows broken.

Anyway, apparently he was in a band. But unlike Blair, one that actually had a single out. Come on MN journos and picture researchers, you MUST be able to find an early shot of him looking gorgeous. He was born in 1950. So that will make him either a Mod (yum) or, eeek, into prog rock?

He started out as a mod. I love him even more now

So an ex-mod postman who thinks the sun shines out of David Bowie's arse. What's not to like?

Very interesting. Multi-racial group. Need to know even more now.
