I was in town today and sad to see even more shops closed down.

When did Principles go into administration?

LadyGlencoraPalliser · 25/04/2009 15:08

I hate Bay Trading's clothes, but it is depressing to think of another gap in our sadly depleted high street.

VoodooTheUnlikely · 25/04/2009 15:11

wasn't principles back in Jan or Feb? quite a bit ago now.
Apparently bay trading is 1000 ish UK jobs.
mostly women..probably part timers.

Tinker · 25/04/2009 15:13

They were a bit crap really weren't they. Even a crap name, doesn't scan properly

LA is at least a "name" so I think would be bought out if wnet under (hope they don't since need to get round to buying bench for our table)

blinks · 26/04/2009 00:57

they've got some good stuff in there right now actually. just bought a couple of things after reading a piece in Grazia about their new collection. requires a bit of fishing but look past the neon tat and there's some nice-eties. get thine arses there pronto.

twinsetandpearls · 26/04/2009 01:10

I am not surprised they have gone awful stuff, sad of course for those who have lost their jobs but this recession has filtered out the crap on the high street.

Flightattendant25 · 26/04/2009 06:29

Tbh I can't believe they stayed around so long. there was never anyone in ours, it's had a 'sale' for months now. It's one of those ones I#d go in as a last resort for a few years in my twenties but then had a word to myself about, as everything was usually rubbish.

i hate to see more folk lose their jobs though.

shavenhaven · 27/04/2009 12:54

i have a few items from bay trading that are okish.

wont miss it though, i cant buy jeans from there as the 16 is more like a 12.

dont tell me that river island might go though 95% of what i own is from there!!1

ThePhantomPooer · 27/04/2009 13:04

I shopped there during my teenage years, bloody horrible it is, was then too TBH.

More jobs gone though which is shame.

Rubbish shop, but yet another empty unit on our desolate high street is not good.
