Definitely clever dogs- they're not even paying for their fares! I wonder if the first dogs to do this were commuting with their humans though. I'd be surprised if a dog spontaneously realised the trains would lead to food.

everyone seems to be smiling at them in the photos.
you might be right about how they first did it

Very sweet.

I used to know a railway cat - lived in the signalbox - who jumped on the train for an excursion every day. She used to travel to the end of the branch line to have a stroll round the station, see how many people would feed her, curl up in a warm spot in the engine shed for a nap, then catch the last train home to the signal box.

Awww, poor things - they really are all over Moscow - lots of them live on the traffic islands Nice and warm in the Moscow subways - that's where I'd live if I were homeless there! Great how they bypass the ticket machines though...

When we lived in a big city in the 70s my mum used to let our dog out all day, thinking she went into the big park we lived next door to (I know, but people used to do that in those days) and people were always saying "I saw your dog in town the other day". Years later, when we'd moved away to another suburb, I was walking with the dog when this old lady came up and burst into tears saying "It's you! I thought you must been run over or something. My little darling!" and the dog was jumping up at her like an old friend. Apparently our dog used to traverse the city on the number 80 bus and visit adoptive friends who would feed her. Amazing really.
