Hmmm, they have found body parts near where I live, how curious

I think it is an arm that matches a leg found a week ago. Both body parts have a skin condition.

Anyone else seen this who lives close by? (Herts)

Yes and I thought ewww - glad I didn't find them whilst walking dog.
Why would someone leave diff body parts lying around the place...... I mean dispose of them properly if they can't be recycled...... ewwww

Longtalljosie · 30/03/2009 18:17

I did - I thought I'd left this sort of thing behind when I left south London! .

Isn't there some sort of by-law about having gruesome discoveries like that, this close to Harpenden?

edam · 30/03/2009 18:36

hope it's not in my neck of the woods.

Seriously, which part of Herts? eek.

edam · 30/03/2009 18:37

close to Harpenden? double eek.

edam · 30/03/2009 18:39

just checked Beeb website, it is ruddy close to home!

hobbgoblin · 30/03/2009 19:41

edam I didn't know you and lived close to one another...

I am t'other side of No Man's Land

Hello neighbour! I had no idea, either. Never remember to check local boards and they seem to be quite quiet anyway.

Let's hope they don't find any more bits close to either of us...

(Btw, have you been and had a look at this new wood that the Woodland trust are planting? Is round your way, I think.)

Threadworm · 31/03/2009 09:56

lol at 'neck of the woods' in this context.

I don't think they've found the neck yet.

edam · 31/03/2009 10:09

Apologies for the deliberate pun, couldn't resist!

marmitebabe · 31/03/2009 10:42

Ewwww! Some sort of new grotesque game - join the body parts...? Some real saddos out there. Hope the police can get a-head in their investigation...... deeply ashamed at joining in the pun thread

flowerybeanbag · 31/03/2009 10:46

I always avoid taking the dog out early in the morning because these things are always discovered by a dog walker and I don't want that to be me.

[irrational emoticon]

Threadworm · 31/03/2009 10:48

Sorry for shouldering in on your deliberate pun edam. I should have let my eyes rest on your post a little longer.

iSOLOvechocolate · 31/03/2009 10:53

I found a jaw in my garden once. It turned out to belong to my neighbour. It was her rabbit and the perpetrator was the local fox.

Sorry!

SparklyGothKat · 31/03/2009 10:57

eeek!! near me too...

Near me too ( I'm in Dunstable), although we had a body turn up in a ditch a couple of years ago in Caddington- a small village nearby

Not as near as Harpenden tho

I wonder which bits will turn up next??

hobbgoblin · 31/03/2009 19:03

I have heard rumour about a skin troubled Irish man and something to do with drugs, but this is very zillionth hand info. Do drugs related murderers go to the trouble of separating body parts and depositing them miles apart I wonder?

Re. The new forest, (not the New Forest ) yes I've walked through some of the new bits that have been opened up. The farm on the same land is gorgeous and I want to live there - it's the same palce that Top Gear had their props stored and which was sadly subject to an arson attack not so long ago.

The leg was near Buntingord wasn't it? In a bag. I wonder what made the discoverer look in the bag...

I'd avoid dog walking early until the head is found, Definitely.

Oh yeah, I remember hearing the Top Gear fire was local, as it were. Wonder why they were storing props in St Albans.

GypsyMoth · 31/03/2009 22:40

I'm near Bedford. It was on local news here too. Wonder where rest of the body turns up? Keep your eyes peeled ladies!!!

naswm · 31/03/2009 22:40

They found a foot in the Severn the other day too....

bronze · 31/03/2009 22:42

where, Harpenden is it? oooh thats my home ton
Off to google

edam · 01/04/2009 09:48

Wheathampstead, Bronze. First one was a village further over towards Stevenage.

FAQinglovely · 01/04/2009 13:34

they've found more - 80 miles away from the other parts - a >>>> head

No indication as yet whether it's linked to the other body parts - in one respect one hopes it is or else how many more body bits are there around.

And - I'm half way between you lot in Herts and Leicestershire where the other bit was found!

BigusBumus · 01/04/2009 13:45

ILoveTiffany, i'm near Bedford too! Just off that stretch of road that someone seems to die on once a week.

peanutbutterkid · 01/04/2009 13:59

This happened where I used to live also Leics. Bits of a lad found all over town over a 2-3 day period. Mostly places I had been only a few hours before the bits were found so seems a miracle I didn't find any of the bits.

Was a gang of teens who tortured their "friend" (a 13yo boy) to death & then carved up the body. Whole thing had zero publicity as came to trial same time as Soham murder trial.
