How the hell do we protect our children if they are going to make a travesty of the law in such a ridiculous way. Don't get me wrong, it is clearly inappropriate for the girl to do this but i bet she isn't the only one and this is not going to help to educate our children in the appropriate use of the net - what is needed is some sort of filter about what can and cannot be posted on public forums such as myspace.

I actually think it's a good thing.

It's illegal,it was childhood porn and I'm suspecting not many of her friends will be copying her now.

Filters won't stop anything, long term they'll find a way,set up their own sites etc. My 5 year old ds has already worked out my password to get online after watching me over my shoulder, goodness knows what teenagers are capable of.

As horrible as it is for this girl I thing there is nothing like being labeled as a sex offender to put people off doing things. In this instance I thing fear of consequences is the only way to go.

I think the 'sex offenders list' is a DM misnomer isn't it? Isn't it called something else in RL (so to speak).

But anyway, I think I agree with Mila. It sends out a message that this is not a good thing to do.
