Scottish MNers, what quote would you put on the Parliament's wall?

Because the Scottish Parliament is 10 years old, they're going to add another quote about Scotland to the Canongate Wall. Of the 24 quotes that are already on the wall, not one is by a woman!

It is an eyesore though is'nt it, a huge glass/metal thing wth brassy looking gun shapes on the side, well that's what I think those big grids look like anyway LOL.

mamadiva, it is so embarrassing when tourists come over to Scotland. I know I felt embarrassed when a friend of mine from another part of Europe came over to visit, we went to see the Parliament. It just makes you cringe doesn't it. It's so hideous. It should be demolished, it really doesn't fit in with the rest of the area. waste of tax payer's money!

Actually can we just put 'AH feck it' on the side, just seeing your name made me realise how much I love that phrase!

And in reply to you yes it is horrible! I think they were going for the modern space age look but no does'nt really work does it LOL.

Saltire, I think it's actually 'we're all Jock Tamson's bairns'. Was talking with DH about this earlier this morning. He agrees with me, but I know what you mean.

mamadiva . it really is a crap design of a building for that particular area. it may look good in another part of the city, just not at the bottom of the High St (as a Parliament building!!).
