I love, love, love Waitrose. We have a choice of Waitrose, Tesco's, Iceland and Netto's in our town and when we had dd and things were a bit tighter we tried Tesco's but if was absolutely vile, the staff were rude, it was busy at any time day or night, and our shopping didn't cost any less. I know i sound snobby but i really am not. My family always went to Tesco or Morrissons, but in our town i just find it so much easier and nicer to go to waitrose. We do have to be careful though as its very easy to spend loads if not restrained
My worry would be that it will gradually go the same as other supermarkets and it will be just another packed, busy supermarket

I got a letter from Sainsbury's recently, I think saying all their eggs inc the value ones would be free range

I would rather pay slightly more at Waitrose in the hope they treat and pay their staff and suppliers well.

I went to Tescos for the first time in 6 months last week. It was awful..so big I couldn't find anything and people were standing outside giving out leaflets complaining about the way workers (at meat suppliers I think) were treated.

And I do love Ocado too especially the free saturday paper!

They have been labelling a lot of Waitrose produce with 'Everyday' and not 'Essentials' on the fruit and veg front - confusing.

I've been buying their 'everyday' veg via Ocado for the past few weeks - still Waitrose quality but at Tesco prices on the whole - carrots, onions etc are great, but the apples are a bit small.

I've been using MySupermarket to compare prices and unless I am buying fish, Ocado always works out cheaper for me these days...

I feel really disapointed with Waitrose at the moment. On Thursday I went in to buy some beef stock and when I reached the till I noticed it was dated 1st March, was really suprised as it was the 5th. Looked in the fridge, there was one left also dated 1st March. I feel very let down!

goingto, you should have complained to the manager and it would have been interesting to see what happened.....
