That poor family who were killed on the motorway-the driver has only got 3 years

its on Sky news atm, the family have just given a statement about it.

3 years?

thats nothing for a mum dad and 4 children,how and their families must be.

And he will only serve about a year.

Absolutely terrible, its such a sad story that it makes me cry just thinking about it.

i watched the family members speaking before and my heart went out to them,what justice is this?

the police said michelle the mum was a very cautious driver,shed had a sleep earlier in the day so she would be alert and she only drove in the slow lane on the motorway only coming out to overtake other drivers.

they said he had a laptop in his waggon and was looking at it to find his way but ignored the warning signs about queues and to slow down.

the only consolation is that they died straightaway,but that is not a consolation at all is it.

so a whole generation wiped out.

According to someone from the prosecution side, he must have failed to see all the signs warning of a problem ahead, plus all the brakelights of the vehicles ahead of him - which certainly sounds to me as though he was looking away from the road for quite some time.

The trouble is, apparently, that the ensuing fire was so bad that it destroyed so much evidence that they couldn't pinpoint what had caused the distraction.

Clearly the man himself has absolutely no conscience whatsoever, otherwise he would have told the police what happened, and given the family some closure.

My friends sister was also killed on the motorway (m20) a fewdays before Xmas 2 yrs ago by a foreign lorry driver.
It took over a year to get to court, but it finally did and he got 4 yrs prison with driving licence suspended for 4 yrs also.
Good job they did the licence for 4 yrs as he is about to get out having served NEARLY 9 MONTHS.
He's been well behaved in prison so gets off early.
2 children lost their mum (single parent), an oldest daughter was lost, a sister and a friend.
Our laws are shite
