Though I'm not a Charles' fan at all, I'm starting to think that probably he is not really a bad personat all but I wonder if he would be suitable to be a a good king with such a huge amount of bad luck.

The largest number of countries' representatives reunited in a single event, how many probabilities he had to end up sitting almost next to Mr Mugabe and then...? .

I'm really feeling some pitty for him now...

er - I think it has to work both ways... and am fairly sure Mugabe wasn't offering any peace.

motherinferior · 08/04/2005 21:01

Or didn't Wills go in bootpolish, oh har bleeding rah rah rah, to the same 'colonials and natives' bash or whatever it was?

unicorn · 08/04/2005 21:01

MI- Do you think Charlie actually 'thought'!!!!!!!!!???

jampots · 08/04/2005 21:03

but it was at the ultimate catholic mass where presumably everyone does the catholic thing.

unicorn · 08/04/2005 21:05

even if they aint catholic?

Charlie must know a bit about handshaking...surely????

and yes he may be having a raw deal with the press .. but he does lay himself open for it...

I mean.. Nicholas Witchell !!! we all may agree... but Charlie needs to keep a lid on it.

motherinferior · 08/04/2005 21:05

I honestly don't think he does do thinking. Pondering, yes, and considering his Own Great Thoughts. But personally I find his deeply retrogressive claims to be a non-titular monarch and to interfere in affairs of state absolutely offensive, even if very occasionally his views do overlap with mine. I think the lefty tendency to think He's All Right That Chazzer Bloke is barking completely up the wrong tumbril.

motherinferior · 08/04/2005 21:06

I have Nick Witchell's book about the Loch Ness Monster btw.

unicorn · 08/04/2005 21:06

!!
Personally I think Charlie is a tw*t of the highest order...

(I'm now off to the tower.... bye all)

Chandra · 08/04/2005 21:10

I really don't believe that Charles' pr office's power extend overseas, obviously he culd have not requested a better seat, I think that the moment he established visual contact with Mugabe he was doomed...

OP posts:
Chandra · 08/04/2005 21:11

"From Zimbabwe"
"Marvellous. Marvellous. Oh f*"

motherinferior · 08/04/2005 21:12

It's all right for you

FrenchGirl · 08/04/2005 21:13

aloha

motherinferior · 08/04/2005 21:13

That was to FG, whose Glorious Revolution was actually, you know, successful

FrenchGirl · 08/04/2005 21:13

in France we only have financial scandals to keep us amused
boring

Chandra · 08/04/2005 21:17

Morningpaper, the only idea of the vatican organising the mass tofay because today was Charles' wedding PMSL, believe it or not, for most people around the world Charles' figure is not different from BEckam, Ronaldo, or even Prince Charming. Curiously enough, I was thinking this morning that many catholics would warm to Charles who postponed his wedding to be there. I suspect is not the case anymore, something very important he forgot that he is the future head of the CofE, it's even worse than a media gaffe, we may forgot Beckham but he is not suposed to be the spiritual leader of a very respectable religious organisation. Sab business, honestly...

Ahh, but that is because you are so sophisticated that sex scandals don't scandalise you.

FrenchGirl · 08/04/2005 21:18

that's what I was discussing with my lover and dh's mistress this afternoon MI!!!

Chandra · 08/04/2005 21:18

...and I beg somebody could absolve me of my spelling sins

edam · 08/04/2005 22:00

Love your analysis of Charlieboy, MI. Someone I know is going to the wedding - will let you have all the goss! My friend is a decent, left-leaning bloke but as an Old Etonian has this sort of Pavlovian respect for HRH. Bless him (my mate, that is), has spent past few weeks living on lettuce so he can squeeze back into his morning suit!

WideWebWitch · 08/04/2005 22:07

lol at this thread! Line 'em all up I say!

fisil · 08/04/2005 22:24

I'm not Catholic, I'm Anglican like Charlie Boy, and I have to say that the thought of not sharing the peace with everyone in my surrounding area, whatever my feelings about them, is totally abhorrant. Sorry to get serious again, but I cannot imagine Charles doing any different to what he did. It was a religious ceremony, not a diplomatic spectacle.

SoupDragon · 08/04/2005 22:28

I keep seeing this thread title and thinking "But I thought he was marrying Camilla..."

snafu · 08/04/2005 22:31

Agree with fisil - don't see what else Chazzer could have done. Not the time or place to be making a protest, imo.
