I am watching Newsnight and cringing at the desperation British politicians (of any colour)continually show when talking about the "special relationship" with the US.

We dont have a special relationship. It is embarassing. Please shut up.

Of course we do. A very special one. We are the USA's bitch

Now roll over. sit. beg. goooooood people.

Just be grateful Tony hung up his gimp suit. Let's hope Gordon can't find one in his size.

I think Ed Milliband already has one of those suits hecate, and I have a bad feeling it may well fit our glorious leader too.

Why, why, why did you have to mention Gordon Brown wearing a gimp suit? Please, God willing, this will not be my last thought as I drift off to sleep tonight.

Yeah, such a special relationship that not only did they turn up to world wars one and two late, but then had the cheek to send us the bill! (IIRC it was something like 1992 when we finally finished paying off the debt?)

TheYearOfTheCat · 03/02/2009 23:28

I had no idea we were billed for WW2 by the USA! Was it just the UK, or the rest of Europe as well?

Who else have they billed? Nicaragua? (sp)

I thought nappies were more his thing...

llareggub · 03/02/2009 23:34

I thought we borrowed the money?

Anyway, I should be able to tell you all about our special relationship, having spent a whole semester studying it at university. However, like I everything else I studied it left my head the moment I graduated.

We hold America's coat while they beat up the littler ones. We are NEEDED, I tell you.
