Is it ironic? I'd say it was just lovely. I only vaguely know about her, from her book titles - not read any of them.

Oh what a shame...

That's hilarious. As much as I can't stand her , she did once get the better of Paxman and that was very, very amusing.

I have to confess to not knowing who she was, but I've had a look at her quotes and am particularly taken with:

I don't think she "got the better" of Paxman at all. I think he gave her enough rope and she hanged herself. Refusing to answer isn't outwitting an interviewer!

I quite like Ann Coulter ... such an easy target.
I sometimes wonder whether what she says is conscious self-parody.

I wish it were. Sadly I think she believes every word.

I hate violence obviously but I hope she didn't just accidentally break her own jaw by walking into a cupboard door or something, I hope it involved someone and their fist. maybe it says, i will go back and read again....
