This story is just so sad.

Jail for nappy death rash mother}

...and now she's pregnant again!! Words just fail me. Why do people get such light sentences for child abuse?

GS's dad used to accuse GS (from birth) of being deliberatly obnoxious, just because he wasn't gettin his own way!!!!

What I'm trying to say is that there are morons out there who genuinely beleive that a very young baby is capable of things we might only see in adults.

very very

I also wish that they would make these decisions quickly - i.e decide that the baby will be adopted from birth. Otherwise the poor baby gets placed with foster parents, bonds, then gets separated from them at a crucial age and suffers trauma.

I know 2 people who adopted children at 14 months / 2yrs - one from a family where the mother and grandmother were involved in peadophilia, one from a drug-addict mother. Both got moved from Mum to relative to foster parent - and both suffered throughout the adoption process - regressing, refusing food, withdrawing, screaming - why couldn't they have been placed in a happy family from birth??

Sorry - not meaning to freak potential adopters - just thinking of the effect of all this 'give them a chance' on the babies.

Blu, I agree with you, how awful this siutaion is wjen there are ppl that would make great parents and are unable to have children.

I think in this sort of situation, the child's needs should be paramount, not the mothers..or fathers. No, she should not be given another chance.

I'm guessing she will give birth while in jail. At least then , if the child is with her then their welfare can be monitored.

Definitly agree it should have been manslaughter, not neglect.

what the fck!! A year, what a fcking insult. My dd is 3 months and the thought of her or a baby like her suffering is just awful. The woman should def be sterilised and that unborn child adopted immediately.
