So my council tax will be frozen for 2 years will it? On the basis that my council will make cuts, so my rubbish won't be collected or the streetlamps not lit?

for 2 years? And then in year 3, when I've got rats from my rubbish not having been collected, it will then go up?

Have I misunderstood? Or is this quite crap? And why do all those tory spokesmen have the same toryboy haircut? Don't they know there are other barbers in the world?

(Please note, this thread is not attempting political neutrality. I just had to let it out.)

oh no, once they have started collecting fortnightly they will, after a few years, start charging per pound of rubbish(the stuff thats left after you have driven to the recycling place yourself)
And there will be murders between neighbours over other people puting stuff in other peoples bins.

Kevlarhead · 29/09/2008 22:35

Don't be daft! No-one would ever seek to irritate a neighbour by dropping five bricks and some quick-drying cement into the bottom of their wheelie bin...

mazzystar · 29/09/2008 22:39

my thoughts exactly
they missed out the second half of the sentence
council tax will be frozen for 2 years
its so transparent its pathetic

Kevlarhead · 29/09/2008 22:41

Mazzy, you've got it wrong.

"council tax will be frozen for 2 years

LittleBella · 29/09/2008 22:41

No they're going to chip them

If you steal someone's wheelie bin, you will have access to their confidential meal planner for the next year.
Imagine how useful that will be to the paparazzi

in my town its, we will put up the council tax, we've already axed weekly rubbish collections, we will refuse to fund free swimming for the under 16s and over 60s, close down the only toilets in town, because we;ve already shut down all the others, and we will also shut sown the tourist information centre because that will be REALLY good for the town

edam · 29/09/2008 22:43

My (Tory) county council will just sack even more carers, and restrict social services even more.

LittleBella · 29/09/2008 22:44

And then after 2 years, (during which time I will be paying a higher proportion of my income in council tax than Richard Branson pays in his) my council tax will rise and I will still be paying a higher proportion of my income in council tax than Le Branson is paying in his...

And this is supposed to motivate me to vote for these dodgy haircuts?

While continuing to pay the senior managers huge amounts of cash - SIX directors of my local authority earn more than the PM. Is running a county council really much harder than running the whole bloody government? Particularly galling as most of these departments are officially rated as failing.

edam · 29/09/2008 22:45

Am always distracted by George Osbourne looking so school-boyish though. And Cameron - he has such rosy pink cheeks. Very odd in a grown man!

UnfortunatelyMe · 29/09/2008 22:45

oh yes, close the wards for mentally il and them get a private company to build a hospital on the site so we can pay them OODLES of cash for the next 300 years

Kevlarhead · 29/09/2008 23:02

"oh yes, close the wards for mentally il and them get a private company to build a hospital on the site so we can pay them OODLES of cash for the next 300 years"

But the private sector are always more efficient! Are you some sort of communist?

LittleBella · 29/09/2008 23:10

Aaaaaaaaaaaaargh that George Osbourne.

I will put money on the proposition that within ten years, we will be reading about him paying to be spanked by an assortment of madams.

He looks exactly the type.

Just look at him. I bet his bottom is red and sore.

Cheers for that.

I'm going to have a mental image of him yelling "Harder! Harder!" everytime he appears on the news now...

Kevlarhead · 29/09/2008 23:47

And shutting his knob in a fridge door...

pass the brain bleach please, or I'll get no sleep tonight...

LittleBella · 29/09/2008 23:48

But I'm right aren't I?

I so wish I weren't. Perhaps if he changed his hairstyle, I wouldn't be having these disturbing thoughts....

Our council wouldn't need to make cuts in services if they just stopped wasting so much of our money. Yesterday I received a card through the post, in the shape of a wheelie bin no less, so someone has been paid handsomely for the 'artwork' and printing (all my family are in the print trade so I know about these things), not to mention the postage. The card was to tell me that my rubbish collection, which in the four years I've lived here has always been on a Thursday, will, from 6th October be on.....a Thursday!.
