ugh- what a nasty piece of writing. I've never had the dubious pleasure of reading Liz Jones before.

LJ is really extremely bitter and resentful. She has lifelong eating disorders, lost her virginity at 35 or something, has had only one relationship, and that with a unfaithful leech, and knows she missed on having children, and is so ANGRY about it all. I dislike Ruth Kelly intensely, but I'm sure she realises that all this vitriol is about LJ and her rage at her strange and lonely, unfulfilled life, not about RK at all.

She's very contradictory - she wrote a bizarre article praising Sarah Brown's style recently and with all due respect to Sarah, she really did not look good. And she's supposedly a fashion expert.

I saw this article too - full disclaimer: the Mail on Sunday was the only paper available to read in the bar at the Gym, the decent broadsheets had already been snaffled.

Anyway - I thought that her piece was so laughably simplistic and off the wall that it didn't peturb me at all. Anyone with an ounce of sense would dismiss it in an instance (as we all have I see!)

quite interesting seeing this article actually, given that Liz Jones has got a bit more feminist lately.
maybe she has noticed that no matter how committed you are to your job and no matter how beautifully you dress, as a woman of a certain age you are on borrowed time in certain professions.
