Tom Daley (14yo) blamed by partner for diving failure

What do you think?

Is 14yo too young to compete in the Olympics? Was it unfair of his partner to put the blame on him?

It does not sound like there is much "Olympic spirit" in Blake Aldridge.

just watching it again on the highlights, and Aldridge's entries are definately worse than Daley's. Daley did get worse with each dive, which he admitted afterwards was down to nerves, but Aldridge made a bigger spash in each one.

I still think Aldridge is being very unsportsmanlike.

They had him on the news earlier. He said it like this:

?I didn?t blow anything and so I can go home happy with my performance,but unfortunately it?s a partnership."

And then flounced (probably)off to ring his mum again.

just watching coverage on BBC - Aldridge quote included something about him being on the phone to his mum after 3rd dive and Tom "having a pop" at him about it.... too right - middle of a competition and one of them is calling his mum - surely they should have been having team time at that point? but as I am built for comfort and not for speed I can hardly comment on world class athletes and their motivations!

Appallingly unsporting of him. He competed as part of a team. They either win as a team, or they lose as a team. It isn;t about individuals.

I watched the diving, and I am no expert, but I thought that Daley was better than his so called partner - it is either sour grapes that they didnt win anything, or he has been misquoted!

I do think that the other divers were a lot better, and the commentator did say that the others were doing more difficult dives, and the difficulty rating is multiplied by the score from the judges, so they would have to perform their comparatively easier dives to a lot higher standard to get a better score.

They did well, as someone else said, to be in the top 8 best divers in the world, but I reckon Daley should get a new partner asap!!

I can imagine a 14 year old wanting to phone his mum BUT a grown man! Who is the adult in the partnership?
