outragious

I had no idea that there was a blanket ban on disabled imigrants to canada until 2005.

what an obviously intolerant country.

there have been people chucked out of this country while receiving chemo, to what our home office knows is a certain death without continuing treatment. please let's don't go kidding ourselves that the UK is in any way better behaved.

JJ
I am FROM Calgary, and I always have trouble when I am going home...

on my Canadian passport.
many of them are total w*nkers that seem to have had their sense of humour surgically removed.

I went home last year with the kids and without DH..the border control guy asked if the children's father (my dh) knew they were gone with me.

I was going to reply "well its been 9 hours, i think he has probably noticed by now that they are gone"

but I thought better of it.

Don't know what to think about the story, but I don't honestly think people with disabilities are banned from holidaying in Canada.

My personal experience of urban Canada has been that it is one of the most tolerant and diverse societies I have ever encountered.

Most places I have been are an Accessibility dream come true, which is frankly great if you have LOs in tow too.

My personal experience of most North American border control people is that they are the world's biggest humour-devoid jobsworths. But as someone else said: what a terrible job.

Meant to say too that it is always nice coming back home to the uk where the passport control people will often chat and ask if I had a nice time
