Her face still looks nice and slim even with all the weight she's put on. I'd look like a beach ball with a face drawn on the front.

Her bosoms are extraordinarily large though, I can see why she is planning a reduction in the future, I wouldn't want to heave those around, I find my DD's enough of an inconvenience.

DD's being my bra cup size, not my daughters.

Communion · 07/08/2008 14:04

Noooo, a better bra would help, but jeez they are still going to be a hefty load to carry.

ruty · 07/08/2008 14:10

great article. Thank god there is a woman out there in the public eye who can speak sp much sense.

ruty · 07/08/2008 14:11

think Malcolm is a bit more cool in Swedish. [maybe Brian too..]

Communion · 07/08/2008 14:14

malcolm and Brian are so nerdy they are cool.

Nerd chic. get with it poeple.

ipanemagirl · 07/08/2008 18:56

Good on her! I hated seeing those pictures of Nicole K 5 mins after her baby was born looking like a strip of spaghetti! It just seems too hysterical!

roseability · 07/08/2008 20:40

Finally!Finally!Finally!

Someone is standing up to this ridiculous size 0 (women should be defined by a number that means empty, unsubstantial, nothing etc) culture. Even if she does lose all the weight at some point (which she is entitled to do) she has taken the first steps in making it acceptable to have a post pregnancy body. The first truly feminist and liberating thing I have read in years.

I normally post on here making derogatory remarks about the DM, but at least they have allowed these opinions to be expressed

OldGregg · 07/08/2008 22:13

"it took nine months to create this spanker of a body"

Am liking the term 'spanker'.

and rofl at FREAK! arrow

NotQuiteCockney · 07/08/2008 22:18

Her bra is really bad. She has quad boobs.

(I have days where I debate getting little cards printed up saying 'your exercise bra is doing nothing for you' or 'your bra is far too small' etc etc and handing them out as appropriate.)

SilentTerror · 07/08/2008 22:19

She looks better facially than she has done for ages, she looked drawn and older when thin.
Agree about t he bra!

ipanemagirl · 07/08/2008 22:27

oldgregg LOVING your name (huge noel fielding and boosh fan me) LOL at spanker too.

yep the article is sensible but fgs she needs to get a bra that fits

WowOoo · 07/08/2008 22:47

Hee hee iCOd. That's what I thought! Why Malcolm? Crikey. Is it just that I knew a complete spanner called Malcolm as youngster?!

I wouldn;t worry about a thing either if I knew i could sort it out later with a good surgeon. She's allright though. Good for her. Interesting article. Want a chocolate eclair now but am not pg or bf. Mm.

Monkeytrousers · 08/08/2008 07:37

I have always liked her. Most of the slurs were imaginings of the media anyway.

There's a lot of excluded middle in thatr piece though. Yes, it's obvioulsty not healthy to be too skinny, but neither is it healthy to be obese either. There is a happy medium.

onceinalifetime · 08/08/2008 07:53

Good article but bloody annoying that the DM was one of the main culprits in drawing attention to her weight in the first place, bunch of hypocrites, no surprise really though. My boobs are same size as hers normally - non-pregnant size, that is - and I sympathise on the breast reduction as mine are wrecked through bf. Scooping up to pour into bra is not a good look.

allgonebellyup · 08/08/2008 07:58

A wicked piece i think, well done ulrika.

Except i personally take offence at her classing all women who lost the weight immediately as starving themselves..
i was really slim through both my pregnancies, although with huge bumps/huge babies. As soon as i gave birth i realised i was much thinner than before i had got pregnant.

So she misses out that some women are naturally skinny after giving birth, and couldnt give a flying fuck what size they are, or what the media thinks of them, their bodies just do it. Breastfeeding makes you shrink even more, even though i was eating for about 5 people.

i felt like a fucking weirdy-page 3 girl with size 6 body and these new HUUUUUUUUUUUUUGGGGGE enormous tits.

YeahBut · 08/08/2008 08:08

Really liked the article. Nice to see someone standing up for their right to look as though they have just had a baby. Hate this whole sledgehammer subtle hinting in the meedja that we should all resemble a Barbie doll five minutes after giving birth.
34I boobs, ouch! I find it hard work hoisting and presenting my E cup norks in a vaguely nice way so to be 4 sizes bigger must be agonising...

fabsmum · 11/08/2008 08:44

I have been thinner and with a flatter stomach after each pregnancy than at any other time in my adult life, because my body seems to eat fat while it's growing babies.

I weighed 8 and a half stone two weeks after having my third. And had 34F tits

A year later I was back to my normal weight of 10 stone 5lbs - despite a full year of breastfeeding (six months of it exclusive).

Ho hum.

I once sold a story to woman's own entitled 'Having a baby improved my figure'.

Re: Ulrika - her tits will go back down surely after she's stopped bf? Mine have.

LittleMissBliss · 11/08/2008 09:18

Its really great seeing a celeb that actually looks like she's actually had a baby. When i had ds i was shocked how fat i still was after having him. I really did think my stomach would deflate after birth . I was all bump. It took a week for me to no longer look 6 months pregnant. I still have a stone to loose but to be honest i haven't been trying. My excuse is that i'm breastfeeding i couldn't possibly diet.
