Story here

I feel sorry for him. He must have been 15 or 16 when he committed the offence and it sounds as if it was an insolated offence and he got himself back on track.

Nope, I didn't burgle anybody, but I might have if I'd been with the wrong people, and I certainly stole stuff when I was around other people who did. And my family went to church, and I went to Sunday School, and I knew right from wrong, and all that. I was older than 15 too.

Some of you are very sanctimonious, you know

WendyWeber · 02/07/2008 21:51

(disclaimer - I didn't go to Sunday School when I was older than 15 )

some of you are bleeding heart liberals...

WendyWeber · 02/07/2008 23:01

True, aitch!

(Actually I am v amused that in this thread you & smallwhitecat are on opposite sides as usual but not the expected ones )

RegenerAitch · 02/07/2008 23:10

really? is swc normally a bit of a nazzy? i never think of her like that...

i've enjoyed not pulling the soppy guardian line, actually. and i believe what i'm saying, more to the point.

WendyWeber · 02/07/2008 23:16

slippery slope, aitch...

No, swc's not usually a narzy, but she is usually on the blue side

Hulababy · 03/07/2008 17:49

Well I can honestly say that I have never made this kind of mistake - ever. I would never have dreamt of stealing stuff or burgling someone's house. It just simply wouldn't have crossed my mind too. And I know that the same is true of my siblings, my friends and DH.

I have to admit I am shocked that people thing that this kind of activity/mistake is normal rite of passage stuff TBH.

I am not being sanctimonious. I am genuinely suprised.

This is life, it's tough - not everyone gets a seconds chance to f""" up. A hard lesson but his life is only ruined if HE makes it so.
