The saddest thing I heard on the news today

An 8 year old has hanged himself.

His grandma found him.

His father said his son missed his mum who had died from breast cancer last year, but he doesn't think he meant to kill himself.

I think the trouble is, children of such a young age don't really think what it actually means to die.

It also made me think of parents who are suicidal. Would they think differently if they thought their child would kill themselves too? Just thoughts. Nothing aimed at anyone.

No words.

Tragic.

What makes me so sad is that he felt there was nobody else he could turn to.

I heard this on the radio just now. Very sad.

Just read about on the BBC news website. His poor dad, he must be utterly heartbroken, having just lost his wife and now his son in such a tragic way. Don't know if the grandfather is his dad or fil. But I can't imagine the pain this poor man is going through
My prayers are with him and his family.

How cruel life is to some. Poor poor boy.

My heart weeps for this family - what a beautiful child he was. Very tragic news.

Watched it and thought how horribly shocking - dh and I were discussing the right to die and the woman with MS on the news earlier - then realised he went to my old school. So sad - he looks like such a lovely little boy.

I heard that and actually burst into tears. It's horrid, he would have had such a life.
