It will be a refelction of light off something, that's all. Our brains always want to see patterns in everything, hence looking for shapes in clouds etc.

Looks like a normal person running up the stairs on a low shutter speed to me. Their hand stays still for a second on the banister, but the rest of them is moving fast so comes out as a blur.

Ooooh that is wierd. Headless ghost and everything.

But a 14 year old boy? Promises he hasn't messed about with the picture?

Actually SNowleopard is probably the most right: a few years back my photographer mate did some similar pics with a very slow shutter speed and me running around with a sparkler - the pictures showed wonderful circles of fire and little trotting ghosty feet.
The only reason I didn't think of that was I wasn't sure you could slow down the shutter speed on a digital camera or at least not on the sort of digital camera the average 14 year old would have.
But if it's not a reflection of light it's a fake, as all ghost photos are.

Hard going actually, as I do believe in them... But this isnt one.

Well everyone knows I believe in ghosts and I think this photo is a fake, as 9 out of 10 'ghost' pics are.

It looks like a woman walking down stairs yes, but surely even the fact that the other side of the photo has dodgy bits on it says it's a trick of light or something.

I 100% believe in ghosts btw, just not ghost pictures.

It's EXTREMELY easy to slow down the shutter speed on all but the very basic of digital cameras these days. I call hoax.

its a fake. well its a real picture but its a very slow shutter speed. i have tons of those! Not something i can mock up on photoshop but not saying you can't make it more 'spectral'

also, he has moved as well as having a slow shutter speed and the person going fast down the stairs!

I am not to sure about the photo but Tulloch Castle used to be the boarding house for pupils from the North West coast when they attended Dingwall Academy.
Many of my friends boarded there during the 70's and it was notorious for odd happenings, footsteps at night, temperature fluctuations etc.
Yes, vivid childhood imaginations and a spooky setting but there really was an odd feeling to the place.

It could be something to do with the way it was developed we have a fab one of dp's mother sitting on a deckchair and she's also behind pegging out the washing! She is well and truly alive.
