Why are MPs being so reluctant to explain their expenses?

Every part of the government is accountable, and is available for inspection. Most details are alo available under the freedom of information act.

Then why are MPs so reluctant to explain or show their expenses?

I smell a rat....

Bear in mind that they don't have to pay tax or NI on expenses, on the basis that it's reimbursing them for something they have forked out on.

Also, why do married MPs get 2 lots of expenses when presumably they are actually living together as man and wife?
