is there a thread on the poor people of Myanmar/Burma? If not why not and what can we do but weep for the incomprehensible numbers of lives lost (22000 and rising)

HAs anyone just seen that aid has been stopped since the generals in burma impounded a food delivery, how con their governments be so so stupid

donnie · 09/05/2008 14:34

the radio 4 lunchtime news reported new figures of 60,000 people or more dead. And the Burmese junta has impounded food supplies given by the UN. Do they think there are western soldiers hiding in the boxes? they are bastards.

suedonim · 09/05/2008 16:55

I don't think the junta cares as long as they're alright. What's a few hundred thousand people more or less to them? There'll be fewer mouths to feed.
