I am so heartily sick of having to hear and see about her bad behaviour every time i read a newspaper or listen to the radio,,,, its got to the stage now where i either turn the radio off or the page over... Its sad because she seems quite musically talented. Shame her personal life is such a mess.............

She was around four or five years ago and everyone agreed then that she was rubbish. Now suddenyl she is "talented."

She's got a good PR person now, that's all. Those photos in the paper the other day... wow how did they get such good shots do you think?

I agree with sea, I very much doubt she planned to become an addict as a way to boost her sales. It's not really her fault that the media take a ghoulish interest in her circumstances.

Oh and i dont think shes beautiful. I think she looks drug addled.The pictures i saw (reluctantly) today showed disgusting teeth, she cakes her make up on with a trowel especially the black stuff and her hair makes her look like shes been dragged several times through a very large hedge backwards!

Have to say that A W got 1 or 2 Ivor Novello awards for her first album Frank,that was about 4/5 yrs ago. She became ill around this time,firstly developing eating disorders and then substance abuse......I know for a fact that she had very low self esteem at this point,mainly with regard to her looks - ridiculous comments were made in the press regarding her weight,and also her looks.... Infact many of these were actually quite racist,had they been made about someone of Asian or African descent i doubt they would have been tolerated.She is completely hounded by the press, she has never done anything to encourage this - ie giving interveiws or selling herself to hideous ok/hello mags.Her self -loathing is evident for all to see,her dramatic downfall in such a short time and at this young age is pitiful.

well clearly lots of mula does not make amy happy (increases her ability to buy drugs and propensity towards being surrounded by hanger ons) she has admitted her troubles amy looking better before recent troubles

She needs a good scrub with Dettol, imho. Rich, Smich. Just sums up for me the twisted way society is at the moment, that a dirty minging drug addict could be so lauded. Pity, as she is clearly v talented.

it's bananas she's only young the press should give her a break. she was on radio london margaret with her dad interviewed with robert elms. her dad is a nice bloke, i hope she gets through it and doesn't kill herself.

Well, i was just pointing out that Amy had been awarded I N awards,these are highly respected as they are given by the song / music writing community to artists or writers,they have been around for over 50 yrs and Amy is one of very few women to have received one.Anyway ,that's not the point,you said she was widely regarded as rubbish and patently she was not.Not sure of the point of this thread ,OP is heartily sick of Amy and all the publicity surrounding her ,so decides to start a conversation to discuss her ????

I agree with Franny - I listen to R4 and read the Guardian, and very rarely do I come across news about the Winehouse. I don't think it's fair to blame her for the coverage - she's obviously extremely ill.

Oh and I think she's marvellously talented myself - it will be a horrible shame if her career is wrecked by her addiction.
