(Apols for it being the DM!)

OP posts:
CatIsSleepy · 19/04/2008 16:36

ooh good lord now it'll never be available

and yes, LOL at the notion that if you have a baby you must be young and have good skin
erm, no

msappropriate · 19/04/2008 16:38

I'll have a look but probably the p and p will cost as much!

msappropriate · 19/04/2008 16:39

I keep looking but am on an economy drive at the moment and am only shopping in lidl! I used to vary btw the 2 to even things out.

wrinklytum · 19/04/2008 16:40

LOL!!!dp brought this story to my attention this morning and I immediately said "Sounds like mumsnet!!!"

expatinscotland · 19/04/2008 16:41

is it really that much better than say, Dr Hanschuka Rose Creme?

that stuff is brilliant and much more readily available.

a little goes a loooonnngg way, too.

Fullmoonfiend · 19/04/2008 16:41

I have been looking for months and it's never in stock. There must be MNetters than I thought in my town
If anyone fancies sending me some up, I'll gladly pay P+P....

SirDigbyChickenCaesar · 19/04/2008 16:43

"i blame dh for my dry skin. its a mix of preg hormones and the fact he bought the wrong soap powder"

how much do you LOVE saying things like that Misdee? makes me smile everytime!

bran · 19/04/2008 16:49

I have Dr Hauschka Rose Cream expat, and baby bottom butter is better (try saying that fast ). I have very dry skin though. Also I would be able to apply the Rose cream in the morning and not look to greasy, but I can only apply the bottom butter at night.

expatinscotland · 19/04/2008 16:52

aha! thanks for explaining the difference.

right now, i have an oily tzone, but dry cheeks, so have been using Rose Cream only on cheeks and eyelids.

but like misdee, my legs are super dry just now.

been using Body Shop Body Butter for now, but needing something a bit stronger.

skyatnight · 19/04/2008 21:23

Aha - I saw the thread recommending it and I had seen it in Waitrose before. Can I find it now? No, it must be all sold out.

Flynnie · 19/04/2008 21:35

Oooh I have had some of this in the cupboard for about a year(thought it was crap for intended use).

Now will get it out and try it on me!

Essie3 · 21/04/2008 16:19

Oh, it gets better - anybody done a search for 'Bottom Butter' on e-bay? £12 etc. Start selling, ladies!

binkleandflip · 21/04/2008 16:24

there is nothing mystical about olive oil being a great moisturiser for your skin - buy a big bottle from your local chemist (far cheaper than oil marketed for cooking) , mix in a few drops of lavender and cammomile essential oils et voila!!

katwith3kittens · 21/04/2008 16:26

This is so funny .... just hope my half used pot lasts for ages now then there will be more stock next time I go !

at the younger mum thing ....

Mobeena · 21/06/2008 21:52

OK, just to clarify - John Lewis sells Waitrose's Baby Bottom Butter? How is this possible?

Carmenere · 21/06/2008 21:53

Same company

gingerninja · 21/06/2008 22:02

They had three shelves full of the stuff at Waitrose in Barbican on Thursday. I bought a tub to give it a go, decided I liked it (the smell, it's gorgeous) went back next day to get another. Nothing. All gone. No doubt they'll never have any in stock again.

Posey · 21/06/2008 22:08

I went into Waitrose near mil's and there was a notice on the shelf saying "due to huge and unprecedented media coverage, we may well be out of stock of Baby Bottom Butter. We hope to get more in, but it will no doubt sell out again very quickly. Sorry for the inconvenience and disappointment this may cause"

I am yet to try it, but live in hope.
I did however manage to get some of the Aldi cream at £1.89 which unfortunately brought me out in zits

hoxtonchick · 21/06/2008 22:10

waitrose in the brunswick centre had loads yesterday posey. i was dithering but didn't get some in the end. will get it next time though!

Posey · 21/06/2008 22:19

Hi HC! Hope you are well.
Sounds like there may be more stocks coming in. I'm more likely to get to the Holloway one, but at the moment don't seem to have any spare time. I really ought to rememeber how bloomin busy June is

hoxtonchick · 21/06/2008 22:21

hi posey . dd & i go to coram a lot, & the brunswick centre is so nice nowadays . though i wasn't too sure about yesterday's mn-esque bunting!

SlartyBartFast · 21/06/2008 22:24

waitroseispart of john lewis group, or sommat.

still no baby bottom butter, in my local,
will feel embarrassed when and if i eventually buy it, i have no baby, and they might assume i read the dm

PurlyQueen · 21/06/2008 22:51

The John Lewis foodhall on Oxford Street had some pots of BBB yesterday afternoon.

Plonketyplonk · 09/09/2009 16:55

I've only just heard of the stuff! Have been using tubs of Shea butter which cost less than a tenner and last for about 6 months. Maybe time for a change?

jennzo · 20/01/2011 14:11

It's true! Baby products really seem to do the job. I've been slathering Boo Boo Magic Balm on my dry hands for a couple of days and it's got rid of all the cracks! I wash my hands too much I think!
